The challenges that await you

By joining the Legal Affairs Department of the City of Laval, you will become part of a large public organization with a human dimension that values professional development and work-life balance. As a lawyer, you will act as a legal advisor to all City services.

More specifically, you will be called upon to:

  • Act as a legal advisor to the City services;
  • Draft regulations, policies, and directives applicable to the City and its citizens;
  • Draft, analyze, and comment on contracts;
  • Draft, analyze, and comment on procedural documents and may be called to make representations before the courts;
  • Collaborate with services to safeguard the interests of the City and ensure regulatory compliance;
  • Conduct legal research and monitor recent developments;
  • Analyze and comment on draft laws and regulations and inform City services of changes and their impacts;
  • Support and contribute to the development of the organization's legal knowledge.
The ideal profile for us
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in law;
  • Have six (6) years of relevant experience;
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
  • Open and motivated to work on diverse topics.
